KENNETH TURAN speaking at the Palisades Branch Library about his new book: "Not to Be Missed: Fifty-four Favorites From a Lifetime of Film"

The Friends of the Palisades Library is pleased to present this program with
Kenneth Turan, a longtime resident of Pacific Palisades. Mr. Turan is a film critic for the Los Angeles Times and NPR’s Morning Edition, and director of the Los Angeles Times Book Prizes. He fell in love with cinema as a child watching “Million Dollar Movie” on WOR-TV Channel 9 in New York. Mr. Turan is the author of Sundance to Sarajevo: Film Festivals and the World They Made, Never Coming To A Theater Near You, Now in Theatres Everywhere: A Celebration of a Certain Kind of Blockbuster, and co-author of Call Me Anna: The Autobiography of Patty Duke and Free for All: Joe Papp, The Public, and the Greatest Theater Story Ever Told. He will be discussing his new book, “Not to Be Missed: Fifty-four Favorites from a Lifetime of Film,” a compilation of essays he has written about fifty-four movies that have enriched his life. Admission is free.
