St. Matthew’s Music Guild welcomes The U.S. Army Herald Trumpets to a community picnic event at St. Matthew’s Church (1031 Bienveneda Ave., Pacific Palisades) on Sunday, October 5 at 5:00 pm.
The event will take place on the Founders Hall Meadow, is free of charge and open to everyone. Those attending are invited to bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs and picnic supper. No food or beverages will be sold.
The U.S. Army Herald Trumpets is the official fanfare ensemble for the President of the United States. Patterned after traditional British “fanfare” trumpet ensembles, The Herald Trumpets was formed to add splendor to official military ceremonies. The ensemble has performed for countless events of national and international significance. They have also performed in Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies, the Super Bowl, The Kennedy Center Honors, the relighting of the Statue of Liberty, and the annual holiday celebrations “A Capitol Fourth,” “Christmas in Washington,” and “The National Memorial Day Concert.”
