Car Crashes into Pole, Knocks Out Power for More Than 4,000 Pinole, Richmond Customers
CHP officers responded to the crash but did not find anyone in the car.

A car crashed into a pole just outside of Pinole Tuesday night, briefly knocking out power for thousands of PG&E customers, according to the California Highway Patrol and utility officials. A car crashed into a power pole at Pinole Valley Road and Marlin Court around 9:20 p.m., disrupting service for 4,381 customers, PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
The outage impacted customers in Pinole, Richmond and El Sobrante, Guidi said. Power was restored at 10:25 p.m., he said. CHP officers responded to the crash site but did not find anyone in the car, CHP Officer Damian Cistaro said. There were no reported injuries, Cistaro said.
Crews are worked to repair the damaged pole and power lines that were hanging a few feet away from the ground, Guidi said. The repair work closed Pinole Valley Road, which turns into Alhambra Valley Road, between Marlin Court and Castro Ranch Road, Cistaro said.
