2 SF Eateries' 'Pinktober' Menus Support Breast Cancer Awareness

Diners can enjoy specially crafted dishes and cocktails at Jasper's Corner Tap & Kitchen & Americano in San Francisco and support the cause.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Jasper’s Corner Tap & Kitchen in San Francisco is serving up a specialty salad and cocktail, and Americano is offering a three-course dinner, with partial proceeds donated to the cause.

One dollar from each "Pinktober Salad" and "Pinktober Cocktail" sold at Japser's will be given to Zero Breast Cancer, an organization devoted to reducing breast cancer risk and supporting health and wellness, management said.

Jasper’s "Together We Are UnBEETable" salad is a blend of roasted beets, arugula, orange segments, almonds, Ricotta cheese and cherry vinaigrette, priced at $15. The cocktail, dubbed "Sip Pink for the Cure," is $12 and features yogurt liquor, Crème de Noyaux, Half & Half and Malibu Rum.

Meanwhile at Americano, the female-led chef team is offering a special $65, three-course menu to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with 8 percent from each sale, "a nod to its address at 8 Mission Ave., being donated to the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund, a Bay Area organization dedicated to providing emergency financial assistance to low-income women and men battling breast cancer, according to restaurant operators.

The Americano menu includes: Grilled Shrimp Salad with Radicchio, Citrus & Fennel (from Sous Chef, Lori Clark); Braised Short Rib with Cauliflower Puree, Almond Salsa Verde and Chioggia Beet Chips (from Executive Chef, Jill Hanson); and Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with Rose Gelee (from Pastry Chef, Miriam Lowe).
