• SF Police Schedules DUI Checkpoint For Saturday (patch.com) — San Francisco drivers are being warned about an SFPD DUI checkpoint scheduled for Saturday night, running from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Officers will be watching for impairment from alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications, with violators facing steep fines, license suspension and other penalties. The operation is funded by a state traffic safety grant.
   

• CHP targets Bay Bridge approach for stepped-up enforcement campaign (contracostaherald.com) — If you drive the westbound approach to the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, expect much stricter CHP enforcement this month, especially in the bus and carpool lane that bypasses the toll plaza. Only buses, motorcycles, or carpools with three or more people may use it during weekday commute hours, and buses alone at all other times, with fines of $490 or more for violators.
   

• San Francisco landlord accused of killing tenant lists home for rent (amedpost.com) — A Sunset District home on 46th Avenue, where a tenant was allegedly killed in May, is now being advertised for rent at $6,300 after a judge barred its sale but allowed leasing. The landlord, a retired dentist, remains jailed on murder charges, while the victim's family pursues a wrongful death lawsuit. Neighbors and prospective tenants have voiced discomfort about the listing and who benefits financially.
