Power Out To 1M |Driver Hurt By Falling Tree |No School Monday List
A powerful storm dominated the headlines Sunday as Bay Area residents dealt with flooding, power outages, falling trees, and mudslides.

BAY AREA — Northern California bore the brunt of a powerful Pacific storm Sunday as an atmospheric river barreled into the Bay Area and Central California with hurricane force winds and several inches of rain. By Sunday night, PG&E reported that more than one million of their customers were in the dark. At 5 a.m. Monday, some 200,000 PG&E customers are still without power.
No deaths have been reported and just one injury is immediately known — a driver who was trapped in their car when it was hit by a falling tree on Highway 101 north of the Golden Gate.
It was the wind that prompted so much grief on Sunday. The ground was already saturated from a storm that hit just days ago, making trees and power lines no match for the ferocious winds as they tore through.
