Peninsula Search For Gang Member, Suspect No. 3 In Marin Co. Boy's Homicide

MARIN COUNTY, CA -- The Marin County Sheriff's Office this morning identified a third suspect investigators are seeking in the murder of a Novato High School student last week.
Sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant in San Mateo today for 19-year-old Javier Guevara, who should be considered armed and dangerous and is a known member of the MS-13 gang, sheriff's officials said.
Two Novato High School students were charged Tuesday with the murder of Edwin Josue Ramirez Guerra, 17, of San Rafael.

Juan Carlos Martinez Henriquez, 17, and Edwin Guevara, 16, were scheduled to be arraigned today for premeditated murder of Ramirez Guerra and the attempted murder of another Novato High School student in Novato while lying in wait on May 25.
The victims were found at the end of Fairway Drive in Novato around 5:30 p.m. after the surviving teen called 911. Ramirez Guerra was shot and the other student was shot and stabbed but survived.

A fourth defendant, Elmer Fernando Machado-Rivera, 20, of San Rafael, was charged with being an accessory to the murder by harboring or concealing Martinez Henriquez.
