  1. Tabby burned in Marshall Fire reunited with his family. The Humane Society of Boulder Valley says "Boots" caught the eye and hearts of hundreds of Coloradans earlier this month. In a twist to the story, Boots had disappeared a year before the fire. (Patch)
  2. Will a new climate tax safeguard the city from extreme weather? A group is working on a November ballot measure that will change how much Boulder collects and spends the climate-related taxes. The group has hopes of generating more money for resiliency efforts. (Reporting Lab)
  3. Suspect takes plea deal in Boulder attempted murder case. Kevin Ray, 41, plead guilty to second-degree assault with a deadly weapon after prosecutors dismissed the original charges, including second-degree attempted murder. (CO Daily)
  4. Consultant selected to study RTD rail extension plan. The study is expected to take around two years to finish, with an aim of providing updated engineering and cost estimates to connect the Fastracks program to include Broomfield, Louisville, Boulder and Longmont. (Yahoo)
  5. Another explosion in Westminster rocks apartment building. A day after an explosion destroyed a home in a suburban neighborhood, a fire engulfed an eight-unit residential building after the explosion, injuring at least two. The cause of the apartment fire wasn't immediately known. (CO Sun)

  • Fire victims set host to rally at City Hall in Louisville. The intended purpose of the rally is to encourage the Louisville City Council to suspend the requirements of the newly adopted green building code, which would to assist fire victims in rebuilding their homes more quickly. The organizers of the rally say that the new green building codes were never intended to apply to residents in an involuntary situation. The event will be held on Sunday, Feb. 27 from 1-2:30 p.m. in front of Louisville City Hall, 749 Main Street. Speakers include former City of Louisville Mayor, Chuck Sisk.
