1. Man arrested on several assault charges (westernslopenow.com) — A 23-year-old man was arrested after allegedly assaulting an at-risk adult and threatening to kill someone inside a Grand Junction home early Wednesday morning. Police say the suspect fled but was quickly found nearby, reportedly resisting and assaulting officers before being booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility. The injured adult was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
   

2. Grand Junction community to gather for teen crash victims memorial. Here's how you can join virtually (kkco11news.com) — Grand Junction residents are invited to a public memorial at Las Colonias tonight honoring five local teenagers killed in a crash earlier this summer. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., the service begins at 6:30 p.m., and those who can't attend in person can watch a livestream on KKCO's website, Facebook page, and apps.
   

3. Sheriff's Office Detail Recent Arrests (junctionnow.com) — Several recent Mesa County Sheriff's Office arrests directly affect Grand Junction neighborhoods, including package theft on Glendam Road and two serious domestic violence assaults that sent victims to the hospital. Deputies arrested suspects from Grand Junction and Clifton on weapons, drug, theft, and assault charges, and officials urge anyone experiencing domestic violence locally to contact law enforcement immediately.
   

4. Clifton animal rescue seeks donations for spay, neuter costs (kjct8.com) — A Clifton-based rescue, Calico Hearts Foster and Rescue, is asking Grand Valley residents to help cover spay and neuter costs for 16 foster cats. The group hopes to raise $2,750 to curb overpopulation after a local low-cost clinic closed, and is accepting donations through GoFundMe as well as sharing details on its website and Facebook page.
   

5. CMU football breaks down breakout road victory against ENMU (kkco11news.com) — Colorado Mesa University's Grand Junction-based Mavericks are riding high after a 42-23 road win over Eastern New Mexico, powered by 35 unanswered points and a dominant offensive line. Players describe staying mentally sharp through a long rain delay as they now prepare for an even longer bus trip to face South Dakota Mines this Saturday afternoon.
