Danbury PD Nab 2 Men In Connection to Vehicle Break-ins
Two juveniles were arrested Thursday night.

DANBURY, CT -- The Danbury Police Department has announced they have arrested two men in connection to the recent wave of motor vehicle break-ins.
Thursday night at approximately 7:36 p.m., police responded to a report of two persons trying to enter parked cars in the area of 10 Ryders Lane. After a short time, officers were able to locate the juveniles and detain them. Investigation showed them to be in possession of stolen items from several overnight car break-ins from that part of town.
Both juveniles were arrested and charged charged with criminal attempt/larceny in the 6th degree, conspiracy to commit/burglary in the 3rd degree, and two counts of larceny in the 6th degree. One juvenile had additional charges of credit card theft and possession of less than ½ ounce of cannabis. As one of the juveniles had been released from juvenile detention just days earlier, he was remanded to custody and the other was released from the police department with an order to present himself in court at a later date and time.

Last Friday, Danbury police officers responded to several reports of car break-ins and three auto theft complaints in the area of Hillandale Road, East Gate Road, Westville Avenue and Town Hill Avenue. Those were but the latest in a widening pattern of overnight vehicle burglaries. Monroe police are reporting a series of overnight motor vehicle burglaries, from Wednesday, July 11, into Thursday, July 12. Vehicles were broken into in multiple sites in New Milford, and an unlocked Porsche was stolen and two other vehicles burglarized in Wilton. Weston Police are investigating thefts from two motor vehicles reported July 2. Two cars were stolen last month in Newtown after their owners left the keys inside the vehicle.
Police are cautioning all residents of the Greater Danbury Area to lock their cars and take their valuable with them.
