Picture Enfield 2021 - Throwbacks, Memories And Nostalgia
A look back at 2021's Picture Enfield - Then And Now throwback columns, showing the evolution of the town throughout the decades.

ENFIELD, CT — As another year comes to a close, many people still clamor for the "good old days" of Enfield past. During 2021, memories of the town were revived on a (mostly) weekly basis, via 40 editions of the Picture Enfield - Then And Now column on Patch.
We are lucky to have been granted permission to use images from some outstanding publications, including I Took a Little Trip to My Hometown by John Zirolli, Enfield: 1950-1980 by Jim Malley and Images of America: Enfield Connecticut by Michael Miller. We are also grateful to the Facebook group Picture Enfield, and to the Enfield Historical Society for use of the old Enfield and Fermi high school yearbooks and other vintage photographs.
A wide variety of historical images were presented during the past year: institutions including Freshwater Pond, Scitico School and King's Korner; long-gone retailers like Eddie's Sporting Goods, Vincent's Men's and Boys' Apparel, Village Florist and the Hockey Swap & Shop; and dining establishments such as Enfield Dairy Bar, Mr. Steak, The Pines and DiMartino's Giant Grinders.
