A Happy Tail: An abused dog who was found abandoned in Hamden over the summer has made a full recovery and has been adopted.
Fire officials say the kitten, who was found by firefighters in July, has been rehabilitated and “given a clean bill of health.”
The dog was found to be suffering from severe medical issues and needed to have both ears partially amputated, according to police.

Sadie, 17, who is deaf, went missing at Sleeping Giant State Park over the weekend.
The kitten appeared to go missing a couple of times, only to show up inside the station fire station each time over the weekend.
The puppy underwent extensive surgery, thanks to a local rescue group and generous donations, and is making progress, according to police.
The Hamden Fire Department made a special “rescue” over the weekend at Sleeping Giant State Park.

Animal control officers worked frantically for nearly two hours to save the cat, police said.
