EAST HARTFORD, CT — This week's journey to a Hidden Gem in Hartford and Tolland counties takes us to East Hartford and a little stand tucked in the shadows of a large store and a 40,000-seat stadium.

Welcome to Faddy's, a tiny stand that features doughnuts, kettle corn and ice cream. It's tucked under an awning on the sidewalk of the massive Cabela's store, which sits next to Rentschler Field, the home venue for University of Connecticut football games and a frequent site of international soccer matches.

How good is the fare at Faddy's? Hardened hunters and focused fisherman are known to routinely do a double-take when entering the store and immediately soften up to get themselves a treat.
