Teen Killed in Fiery Hartford Crash Identified

The teenager's family identified him to the media; police and the medical examiner's office have not yet done so.

HARTFORD, CT — Police and the state medical examiner's office have not yet officially released the name of the 13-year-old who was killed in a fiery crash in Hartford Thursday, but members of the youth's family have identified him to media sources.

Jamaire Smith was named as the deceased youth by his mother, Nakisha Green, according to the Hartford Courant.

Smith was reportedly driving a stolen 2006 Subaru Impreza on Windsor Street when the vehicle left the roadway, striking a tree and a utility pole before erupting into flames.
