Another National Retailer Closing 4 CT Locations
A national retailer has filed for bankruptcy and will close all four of its Connecticut stores.
CONNECTICUT — Jewelry and accessories retailer Charming Charlie has filed for bankruptcy and will close all of its 261 stores by the end of August including four in Connecticut. The news marks another closing in what's been a rough year for Connecticut national retailers.
The store has four locations in the state in West Hartford, Plainville, South Windsor, and Guilford, according to WFSB.
The specialty retailer became known following its 2004 opening for grouping women's fashion accessories by color. However, recent times have proved tough for Charming Charlie and the retailer closed 100 locations last year, Dallas News reported.

The retailer said the decision to file for bankruptcy again was made "after the implementation of numerous cost-reduction measures" which failed to stabilize the business and ensure profitability.
Charming Charlie's announcement comes a month after it was revealed that Dressbarn is closing all 19 locations in Connecticut and all 650 across the United States. The first two Dressbarn's to close are: Southbury and Mansfield.
