In Newtown:

• Friday: Opening night The Artificial Jungle performed by The Town Players of Newtown, The Little Theatre, 18 Orchard Hill Road, curtain 8 p.m., $20. Sow runs on weekends through September 27.
• Saturday: Sandy Hook Choose Love Concert, Beatles Tribute Band “Ticket To Ride” will play from 1-3 p.m. on the Village Green in Sandy Hook, 5 Glen Road.
• Saturday: Sandy Hook Art Walk kickoff, get a map of participating merchants in downtown Sandy Hook.
• Newtown Forest Association celebrates 90 years with Sunset Wine Tasting at their Holcombe Hill Wildlife Preserve from 4 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person.
