NEW CANAAN, CT — In an exclusive interview released Monday with Fox News Channel, Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of missing New Canaan mother-of-five Jennifer Farber Dulos, discusses how much he misses his children, and the recent civil trial involving his mother-in-law Gloria Farber.

Dulos sat down with Fox News Correspondent Laura Ingle, and reiterated his claims that he not only does not owe Farber and her deceased husband's estate $2.5 million, but she owes him money.

"My relationship with [the late] Hilliard [Farber] was excellent," Dulos says. "It started in 2004 and until 2010 it was more of a business relationship. So, the money would go again both ways, but there were formal notes, there was substantial interest, and there was repayment of the loans. After 2010, the relationship evolved to be a little more casual. It was, again, a two-way relationship so, whenever the money was needed for construction projects, Hilliard would provide it."

He adds, "I'll tell you on the business side, the relationship was always excellent. He was very, very supportive, he not only provided funds but he provided his own time and his advice, which was priceless. It was like having a board of trustees in one person. So we enjoyed his participation, we are very grateful to him and personally, I felt like he was a second father to me. I said that on trial and I’m very sincere about it."

Jennifer and Fotis Dulos were in the midst of a contentious divorce and child custody fight when she vanished on May 24, and Fotis declines to discuss that situation with Ingle. He has not seen or spoken with his children since just before the disappearance.

He and ex-girlfriend Michelle Troconis are facing charges in connection with the disappearance, and separately both are due back in Stamford Superior Court next month. The two are accused of discarding bloody items - such as clothing and sponges - that were recovered by police and tested positive for Jennifer Dulos' blood. Authorities also accuse the duo of trying to cover up their actions.

"I don't know how they're doing, there's no information flowing with regards to how they,re doing," Dulos says about his five children, who have been living with Farber since the disappearance; Farber is seeking sole custody of the children. "I love my children. I miss them. I think about them every morning when I wake up. That’s who I think about. I feel I have a doughnut in my heart, with a big hole. And I don't wish it to anybody. And I hope I get – I hope this will be over soon. All I can do is work hard every day, step-by-step, until we get through all of this."
