NEW CANAAN, CT — In a television interview to air next week, accused husband Fotis Dulos says that he believes his missing wife, Jennifer Farber Dulos, is still alive, despite Connecticut State Police continuing to lay the groundwork for a potential murder case.

The interview with NBC News' Dennis Murphy is scheduled to air on "Dateline" on Monday night, Sept. 9, at 10 p.m., which was previewed on the TODAY show on Friday.

In addition to asking Fotis Dulos if he had anything to do with Jennifer Dulos' disappearance (which he says he did not), Murphy also asks him if he believes she is alive.

"I do," Fotis Dulos says, but as he with other answers in the segment, he says he does not want to discuss it further based on advice from his attorneys. In July, Fotis Dulos gave a similar interview to WNBC-TV New York's Sarah Wallace in which he again denied any involvement with the disappearance.

Patch reached out to Carrie Luft, spokesperson for Jennifer Farber Dulos' family and friends, for reaction to the interview, and while she declined to comment, Luft told Patch that she also was interviewed for the NBC News piece. She said she will let those statements stand as the family's response.

In a statement late last month, Luft thanked the community for its collective support.

"The terrible reality is that Jennifer is still missing. Jennifer's family and friends want the people of New Canaan to know how much we appreciate the ongoing efforts and actions of the New Canaan Police and the greater New Canaan community: candles, bracelets, flyers and more. We thank each and every one of you who is helping to keep the focus on bringing justice for Jennifer. Your support helps sustain us."

Jennifer Farber Dulos has been missing since May 24, and on Wednesday, state police re-arrested Fotis Dulos on a new charge of tampering with evidence in connection with the disappearance. In the arrest warrant, authorities claim he killed his estranged wife after lying in wait for her to return from dropping off their children at school.

Fotis and Jennifer Dulos were in the midst of a contentious divorce and child custody battle at the time of her disappearance, and Fotis Dulos and his ex-girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, have been accused of discarding items following the disappearance that were stained with Jennifer Dulos' blood. Both Troconis and Fotis Dulos have been arrested twice in connection with the disappearance.

— Dateline's special episode, entitled "The Disappearance of Jennifer Dulos," airs at 10 p.m. on Sept. 9 on NBC stations.
