Stamford Home Built In 1860 Just Listed For Sale (patch.com) — A historic 1860 Greek Revival farmhouse on Roxbury Road in Stamford has just hit the market for $1.53 million, offering five bedrooms, four bathrooms and over 5,300 square feet of living space. The carefully preserved Westover-area home blends classic New England character with modern comforts, positioning it as a legacy property for buyers seeking history within Stamford's housing market.
   

2. Historic $446M Westhill High School Underway (high-profile.com) — Westhill High School in Stamford is being completely rebuilt into a $446 million, 450,000-square-foot campus, the largest school project in Connecticut history, slated to open in August 2029. The new building will serve about 2,500 students with over 100 classrooms, new athletic facilities, and a natatorium, all designed to high environmental standards. Construction is underway while the existing school remains open, reshaping daily life for Stamford students and families for years.
   

3. Connecticut Supreme Court orders new trial for man serving 50 years in Stamford murder (ctpost.com) — The Connecticut Supreme Court has ordered a new trial in a Stamford murder case, ruling that the trial judge erred by allowing gunshot residue evidence without a proper hearing. Rashad Sellers, serving a 50-year sentence for the 2019 killing of Stephon Walthrust, challenged the forensic testimony that linked him to a firearm. The high court found that flaw significant because the residue analysis was the only evidence directly connecting him to a gun, sending the case back for retrial.
   

4. Free breakfast, cellphone guidance and more: What's new in Connecticut schools for 2026-27? (ctpost.com) — Stamford families will see statewide changes this school year, including universal free school breakfast and a forthcoming free CTtransit bus pass program that will benefit local high schoolers. New laws also tighten rules on school resource officers, add AI and Islamic and Arab studies to curriculum, toughen cellphone and screen-time guidance, and permanently remove sales tax from basic school supplies.
