A short time later, officers apprehended Timothy F. Anderson on Haig Avenue. Anderson was charged with first-degree assault of an elderly person, first-degree unlawful restraint, third-degree assault in and disorderly conduct. He was held on a $100,000 bond and scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in state Superior Court in Stamford.

According to police, the victim said “she confronted Timothy due to his lack of taking his medication. At that point, Timothy became extremely aggravated and shouted at her that he had indeed, been taking his medication. Timothy then grabbed the victim by her collar and began to punch her in the face repeatedly. She shouted for her other son (50 years old), who attempted to stop the assault without luck, to call the police. Timothy and his brother fought for a few moments prior to Timothy’s fleeing.”

Stamford Emergency Medical Service brought the victim to Stamford Hospital where “the victim was subsequently found to have internal bleeding, which required emergency surgery to remove a portion of her skull, allowing removal of unwanted pressure on her brain. The victim remains at Stamford Hospital in grave condition,” police said late Tuesday morning.
