• Meet Vernon's New Superintendent Of Schools In The Municipal Video Series (patch.com) — Vernon residents can get to know new Superintendent of Schools Jennifer Hills-Papetti through the town's "Rock Solid: Behind the Scenes of Vernon-Rockville" video series. The latest episode highlights her early work meeting teachers, students, and families and preparing for the upcoming school year, produced in partnership with Vernon-based Burden Media.
   

• Vernon Police Canine Team Earns Top Finish At Dream Ride Competition (patch.com) — Vernon police Officer Brandon Zawadski and his K-9 partner Franco brought home top honors for the town, winning first place in obedience and placing fifth overall at the 2026 Dream Ride K9 Competition. Their strong performance showcases the quality of Vernon's police canine training and earned congratulations from the department for proudly representing the community.
   

• Vehicle Flips In 3-Car Crash In Vernon (patch.com) — A rollover crash involving three vehicles on Route 83 near the Spare Time bowling center in Vernon sent two drivers to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say one driver lost control, hit two other cars, and had to be extricated after her vehicle flipped. The Sunday evening crash briefly disrupted a busy local corridor and drew a significant emergency response.
