McDonald's Plans to Demolish, Rebuild Wallingford Restaurant without Play Area

The application will be discussed at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on Jan. 12.

McDonald’s is planning on demolishing its North Colony Road restaurant and rebuilding it into a smaller building with a two-lane drive-thru — but without a play area, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports that McDonald’s submitted an application for a special permit to the Planning and Zoning Department in November and the application will be discussed at the PZC’s meeting on Jan. 12.

It’s unknown when the demolition will take place but the construction is expected to be completed in 2015, according to the Record-Journal.
