McDonald's Playscape Might Find a Second Life on Trail of Terror in Wallingford
The playscape's fate is still to be determined.

After reading that the owner of the McDonald’s on North Colony Road was planning on demolishing the existing building and rebuilding the restaurant without the popular playscape, ideas began percolating in the mind of Trail of Terror founder Wayne Barneschi.
Barneschi is hoping to incorporate the playscape (renovated with a different theme) into the Trail of Terror next year, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
McDonald’s owner Ted Zafiris has submitted a plan to rebuild a slightly smaller building with a two-lane drive thru and remove the playscape, although he told the Record-Journal he hopes to replace it with a state-of-the-art playscape.

Zafiris also told the Record-Journal he’s open to the idea of the playscape becoming a prop on the Trail of Terror, pending approval of the corporate offices.
Zafiris’ plan to rebuild the McDonald’s will go before the Planning and Zoning Commission on Jan. 26, according to the Record-Journal.
