Here's what you need to know concerning the 2019 Wallingford local elections including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more

WALLINGFORD, CT — The polls are open and voting is underway in Wallingford’s municipal election. The position of mayor and seats on the town council and board of education are all up for grabs.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by entering your information.
Longtime Republican Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr., a 36-year incumbent, is seeking a 19th consecutive term and faces another challenge from Democrat Jared Liu in a rematch of the 2017 election.

For Town Council, residents will vote for up to any nine candidates. The Democratic candidates are: Jason Zandri, Vincent F. Testa Jr., Jeff Kohan, Jesse S. Reynolds, Gina Morgenstein and Jaime Hine. The Republican candidates are: Chris Shortell, Vincent Cervoni, Christina Tatta, Joe A. Marrone III, Tom Laffin and Craig Fishbein.

For Board of Education, residents will vote for up to any nine candidates. The Democratic candidates are: Patty Pursell, Michael J. Votto Sr., Bryan Rivard, Patrick Reynolds, Kathy Castelli and Bruce Conroy. The Republican candidates are: Karen A. Hlavac, Raymond J. Ross, Autumn Allinson, Tammy Raccio, Erin Corso and Rajan Doering.
Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously, registered voters standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.
Emergency application ballots are available for unforeseen circumstances within six days of the election.
