Wallingford Election Results 2019: Vote Totals For Every Race
Wallingford residents went to the polls to vote for candidates for mayor, town council and board of education.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Longtime Republican Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. won a 19th consecutive term, defeating Democrat challenger Jared Liu in Tuesday’s municipal election. Dickinson won by an unofficial vote of 7,270 to 5,072.
As results were coming in Tuesday night, Liu conceded in a statement on Facebook that Dickinson had enough votes to carry to another term.
“I’ll post more tomorrow, but thank you to everyone who supported me, to my family for embarking on this journey together, and to all the wonderful people who leaned into the conversation about how to make this town even better,” Liu wrote in a post on Facebook.

Republicans also retained their 6-3 majority on the Town Council with Chris Shortell, Vincent Cervoni, Christina Tatta (a newcomer who received the most council votes), Joe Marrone III, Tom Laffin and Craig Fishbein all winning. Jason Zandri, Vincent Testa Jr. and Gina Morgenstein picked up wins for the Democrats.
The GOP also grabbed control of the Board of Education by a 5-4 margin. Karen Hlavac, Raymond Ross, Autumn Allinson, Tammy Raccio (who was previously elected as a Democrat) and Erin Corso all earned seats for Republicans. Patty Pursell, Michael Votto, Patrick Reynolds and Kathy Castelli all picked up wins for the Democrats.

(Original post) WALLINGFORD, CT — The votes are now being counted as Wallingford residents wait to see if longtime Republican Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. has been elected to a 20th consecutive term or if Democratic challenger Jared Liu has won the rematch of the 2017 election.
Additionally, seats on the town council and board of education were all up for grabs.

For Town Council, residents voted for up to any nine candidates. The Democratic candidates were: Jason Zandri, Vincent F. Testa Jr., Jeff Kohan, Jesse S. Reynolds, Gina Morgenstein and Jaime Hine. The Republican candidates were: Chris Shortell, Vincent Cervoni, Christina Tatta, Joe A. Marrone III, Tom Laffin and Craig Fishbein.
For Board of Education, residents voted for up to any nine candidates. The Democratic candidates were: Patty Pursell, Michael J. Votto Sr., Bryan Rivard, Patrick Reynolds, Kathy Castelli and Bruce Conroy. The Republican candidates were: Karen A. Hlavac, Raymond J.
