Thirteen beers sit atop the table at Beanie's Bar & Sports Grill, 2002 U.S. Highway in Ruskin, to remember the 11 Marines, one Navy veteran and one Army veteran who lost their lives in the terror attack.

Hurricane Ida Likely To Increase Gas Prices, Short Supply: AAA

Florida drivers could soon feel the effects of Hurricane Ida, in the form of higher gas prices. The average price for gasoline in Florida is $2.95 per gallon, according to Mark Jenkins, AAA spokesperson. The average price has slowly decreased over the past three weeks, after setting a new 2021 high of $3.03 on Aug. 5.

3,000 Students, Teachers Isolated, Quarantined Because Of COVID

As Sarasota County Schools prepared for its 90-day emergency face mask mandate to go into full effect Monday, more than 3,000 students and employees were out of school and work for isolation because they have COVID-19 or were quarantining because they might have been exposed.
