Brian Kemp and Stacey Abrams are locked in a tight race for governor. Here's what happened in the final hours of Georgia's governor's race.

ATLANTA, GA -- It's America's most watched governor's race, as Brian Kemp and Stacey Abrams are running for Georgia's top statewide office. Abrams is seeking to become the nation's first African-American female governor in history, while Kemp is aiming to maintain the GOP's stronghold on the office that it's enjoyed since 2002. National Democrats also hope that Georgia will become a swing state, as the nation's midterm elections are widely being seen as a referendum on President Donald Trump's controversial White House administration.

President Trump Speaks At Brian Kemp Campaign Rally
President Trump will appear at a Sunday afternoon campaign rally for Republican Brian Kemp, who is in a tight race against Democrat Stacey Abrams, to become Georgia's next governor. On the final weekend before next Tuesday's Georgia elections, Trump is in Macon to rally voters to support Kemp, whom he has endorsed and supported previously on Twitter.

Barack Obama In Atlanta For Stacey Abrams
ormer president Barack Obama was in Atlanta to campaign for Stacey Abrams, as Georgia's nationally watched governor's race enters what could be its final hours. Obama appeared at a Friday afternoon rally at Morehouse College on behalf of Abrams, who is seeking to become the nation's first African-American female governor in history next Tuesday. Virtually every recent poll taken shows Abrams and Republican Brian Kemp in a statistical dead heat, with about 5 percent of voters undecided.

New Citizens Can Vote If They Provide Proof Of Citizenship
A federal judge ruled Friday afternoon that naturalized US citizens who've been blocked from registering in Georgia must be allowed to vote if they can provide proof of citizenship at the polls. New Poll Shows GA Governor's Race Tied As Early Voting Ends
s early voting comes to an end Friday, a new poll shows the nation's most watched governor's race could be headed for a runoff next month. The new poll, conducted by Channel 2 and the AJC, shows Republican Brian Kemp and Democrat Stacey Abrams in a statistical tie at 46 percent, within the poll's 3-percentage-point margin of error.
