South Augusta YMCA says farewell to the community (wrdw.com) — Families in south Augusta are losing their neighborhood YMCA on Tobacco Road, as the facility closes after its shopping center was sold and the Y declined to renew its lease. Leaders say every child in the Primetime program has already been placed at other YMCA sites, with staff following them to keep familiar faces and avoid any disruption in after-school care.

Wait drags on for users of Augusta's ailing community centers (wrdw.com) — Augusta residents who rely on Bernie Ward, May Park, and other community centers are still waiting on long-promised repairs, safer facilities, and a reopening date for Henry Brigham's closed pool. City maintenance records show repeated HVAC and ceiling issues, while officials say all 11 centers remain functional as cooling sites.
