Canton Double Murder Suspect Back In Georgia
Akilee Zakee Wilson, 18, who is charged in connection with the June 25 fatal shootings, was captured in New York by the U.S. Marshals.

CANTON, GA -- The 18-year-old charged in connection with the June 25 double homicide just outside downtown Canton is back on Georgia soil. Akilee Zakee Wilson has been extradited from New York to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center, and jail records show he was booked into the facility at 6 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3.
Wilson was booked into the facility on two counts each of felony murder and aggravated assault. He's also charged with failure to appear in Cherokee County State Court related to one count of misdemeanor battery he faces following a Feb. 2 altercation in Canton, court records show.
Canton police spokesperson Pacer Cordry said the Cherokee Sheriff's Office handled the extradition. Sheriff's Office spokesperson Sgt. Marianne Kelley said Wilson is scheduled to make his first appearance before a Magistrate Court judge Monday afternoon. Wilson, a resident of Dallas, was at large for months before he was tracked down in late September in a Staten Island housing development by the New York/New Jersey U.S. Marshal Regional Fugitive Task Force.
