Police: Teen Killed in Rollover Wreck Was Not Wearing Seatbelt
Alexander Carson, 17, died on Wednesday in an single-vehicle accident on Bluffs Parkway in Canton.

The Canton Police Department has released more details in the single vehicle accident that took the life of a teenager.
According to a press release from the agency, Alexander Carson, 17, was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer on Bluffs Parkway when he veered off the roadway onto the right shoulder, traveled through the grass and then re-entered the roadway.
The vehicle then veered towards the center median, and the SUV rolled several times before coming to a final rest. Carson was ejected from the Ford Explorer.

“Carson was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident,” Canton police spokesperson Lt. Jeff Tucker said in a press release.
The police department’s Traffic Unit continues to investigate the fatal wreck.

Funeral services for Carson, a former Cherokee High School student, were held on Saturday, Oct. 4 at First Baptist Canton.
Carson is survived by mother and father, Rob and Stephanie Carson of Canton; grandparents, Bobby Carson of Woodstock, Tim and Sharon Glaze of Talking Rock and Ronnie Darby of Kingston; brothers and sisters, Jacob, Nathan, Kaitlyn, Brianna and Mackenzie Carson, all of Canton; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
According to the Cherokee Youth Football Association’s Facebook page, Carson was a former player with the association and was actively involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and JROTC while he attended Cherokee.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alex Carson Fund at the First Baptist Church Canton, 1 Mission Point in Canton. Donations can also be made to the Alex Carson Family Fund to help with funeral expenses at any Wells Fargo bank location.
