Atlanta Artist Wilbur G. Kurtz Lecture, Book signing and Exhibit at Two NW GA Museums

Check out the Booth Museum this Wednesday, April 2nd for their Art for Lunch at 12:15 in the Booth Ballroom. David O'Connell will talk about his new book, "The Art & Life of Atlanta Artist Wilbur G. Kurtz: Inspired by Southern History." It is the first biography ever devoted to the well-known Atlanta artist and amateur historian.  O'Connell highlights Kurtz's artistic work, describing the stages of the artist's career from his founding of the Pen and Brush Club of Atlanta in 1913 and the first sales of his early works in that decade, to his death five decades later.   Margaret Mitchell selected Kurtz as the technical advisor and artistic director for Gone With the Wind. Kurtz’s murals and historic paintings are on display in public buildings and private art collections throughout the South. Along with O'Connell's presentation, guests will be able to view several pieces of art by Kurtz and purchase O'Connell's book for a book signing.  Wednesday's lunch menu includes a salad and taco bar, drinks, and dessert. http://boothmuseum.org/
