Cedar Mountain Coffee Set To Close Its Doors
Cedar Mountain Coffee, on Villa Rica Highway in Dallas, will be permanently closing its doors Jan. 12 after 11 months in business.

DALLAS, GA — Cedar Mountain Coffee, on Villa Rica Highway in Dallas, will be permanently closing its doors Jan. 12 after 11 months in business, the owner announced Tuesday on the company's Facebook page. He attributes having no drive through access for his customers and not enough population density in the area as contributors to the business' closing.
"Well, it doesn’t look like it will be a Happy New Year for the shop," said Ed Justice, owner, in a Facebook post Tuesday. "After posting steadily declining sales and revenue over the past three months, we have made the decision to close down the coffee shop.
"When we made the decision back in October to stay open thru the end of the year, we were hopeful that cooler temps and holidays would help us turn things around," Justice continued. "Sadly, that didn’t happen. Our last full day of operations will be Friday, Jan. 12. If you have any remaining gift cards, please try to redeem them prior to that date. To our loyal daily/weekly customers, we truly appreciate you and we will miss you guys."

Justice said a dog grooming business is currently in the "end cap" of the shopping mall where his business is located.
"I think lack of a drive through is the single biggest reason we couldn't be more successful," he said. "We're in the middle of the plaza but I think if we had a drive through, business would increase 30 to 35 percent overnight.

"Another reason is population density here," he said. "I don't think it's dense enough here to support a coffee shop like this yet. Maybe in five years or so."
Justice said, for the moment, he has no plans to open another coffee shop or another business in the area.
