Child Abduction Attempt Reported in Paulding County

An unknown man reportedly approached a 10-year-old girl and touched her on the shoulder.

DALLAS, GA — Authorities are seeking an unknown man who appears to have attempted to abduct a 10-year-old girl Wednesday in Paulding County.

At about 4:30 p.m., deputies responded to Ivy Springs Drive in New Hope in regard to an attempted child abduction.

There, a mother told officers that her 10-year-old daughter had been playing in their cul-de-sac on her bicycle when a man she did not know touched her on the shoulder.

The child was able to get away from the man without injury and the man ran into the woods, according to the Paulding County Sheriff's Office.

The man appeared to have a black rag in his hands, according to the report.

Deputies, including a K-9 unit, began searching the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male with shaggy, red hair and red facial hair. He was wearing a blue shirt, red shorts and black and white Nike shoes.

Anyone with information about the man's whereabouts, or other information in the case, is asked to call 911.
