In compliance with state law, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office said, signs have been erected warning of reduced speed limits in the two construction zones. Along with the reduced speed limits come increased speeding fines.
The speed limit in the construction zones is now 35 m.p.h., down from the regular 45 m.p.h. limit in the area.

Deputies will be out conducting speed detection in the construction zones, the sheriff's office said.
"Please slow down, not only for worker safety, but also for the increase in hazards such as construction barrels and heavy equipment," the office said in a Facebook post. "Just remember, the construction zone speed limit of 35 MPH is enforced even if workers are not present."
