Cowboy Gathering at the Booth Museum TODAY!

If you are looking for a fun time for the whole family this weekend, check out the Booth Museum's Cowboy Gathering festival in Cartersville. Kids can make a Buffalo Bill Wild West poster and a mountain lion puppet, listen to students and adults recite poetry, see real chuck wagons on the hill, hear live music by the Old Mill Road Band and April Wehunt, and meet Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley!

Inside the museum are 3 floors of amazing Western artwork. Three special exhibits are on view now. Todays West! exhibit is artwork from the world famous Buffalo Bill Center of the West museum in Cody, Wyoming. Taking the Reins! exhibit has artwork from artist, Donna Howell-Sickles from Texas. She has whimsical cowgirl figures in her artwork with lots of animals. Kids can see how many animals they can find in her work such as bears, mountain lion, pigs, owls, crows, dogs, cows, and lots of horses. Downstairs is contemporary photograph collages by local artist, Susan K. Friedland.

After the children check out all the activities and artwork they can play in the kids' area, Sagebrush Ranch, where they can ride a horse, get in a stage coach, cook at a chuck wagon, and draw their own masterpiece.
