Dallas Drug Bust: 2 Charged With Trafficking, Guns And $100K Seized
More than $100,000, 15 pistols and rifles and various drugs were found during the recent raid in two Paulding communities.
DALLAS, GA — Two Paulding County men are facing several drug trafficking charges, and at least $100,000 was seized along with narcotics and 15 firearms, during a Dallas police raid.
The Paulding County Sheriff's Office partnered on Aug. 2 with Haralson County for a drug task force that raided two Dallas homes, one at Alana Court and one at Collins Run Lane.
Authorities said Tuesday Aaron Ryan Jones, 41, and Sherod Montraze Birdsong, 38, were both arrested on suspicion of various drug trafficking charges.

Their arrests come after a "lengthy investigation," authorities said. The multi-county drug task force began investigating Jones and Birdsong after receiving tips.
During the raid, authorities said the following items were found:

- 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of methamphetamine
- More than 200 grams of heroin/fentanyl
- Multiple ounces of cocaine
- More than $100,000 in U.S. currency
- 15 firearms (pistols and rifles)
- Thousands of rounds of ammunition
Authorities said two of the guns were stolen from Paulding.
“With the opioid epidemic taking lives on a regular basis, I am proud of the work our drug task force has done to rid our community of these life-ending drugs," Paulding County Sheriff Gary Gulledge said in a news release. "Our partnership with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, who oversees the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force, has always proven to help keep our community a safe place to live, work and play.”
Jones is being charged on suspicion of trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, trafficking fentanyl and trafficking heroin, authorities said.
Birdsong is being charged on suspicion of two counts of trafficking cocaine, trafficking fentanyl, trafficking heroin, trafficking methamphetamine, distribution/sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine and distribution/sale of heroin, authorities said.
Both men are being held in the Paulding County Jail without bond, authorities said.
