Paulding Man, Woman Killed in Motorcycle Wreck (Updated)

A motorcyclist and his passenger were both killed in a Sunday morning accident near the Polk County line, the Georgia State Patrol confirmed Monday afternoon.

Gary L. Nanny, 60, of Hiram, and Wendy D. Kennedy, 46, of Dallas, died at scene after the 8 a.m. accident on Ga. Highway 6, the state patrol said.

According to a news release, both were ejected from the motorcycle.

The state patrol said Nanny was driving a 2002 Harley Davidson north on Old Atlanta Highway and was attempting to cross all four lanes of Georgia Hwy. 6 when it struck a pickup truck travelling west on Hwy 6.

“The driver of motorcycle failed to yield while attempting to cross GA 6 and traveled into the path of the pickup. The motorcycle was struck in the right side with the left front of the pickup,” the news release said.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a weekend accident in Polk County that killed two Paulding County motorcyclists.

The Rome News-Tribune reported Gary Lynn Nancy, 60, of Dallas, and his passenger, Wendy Diane Kennedy, 46, of Hiram, died at the scene after their motorcycle reportedly pulled out in front of a pickup truck on U.S. Hwy 278 near the Polk-Paulding line. The accident happened around 8 a.m. Sunday, the newspaper said.
