Dallas Man's Car Strikes, Kills 68-Year-Old Woman

No charges had been filed Tuesday in the collision, which happened while the woman was getting luggage that fell out of her SUV.

DALLAS, GA — A 68-year-old woman who was picking up luggage that had fallen out of her SUV was struck and killed by a car driven by a man from Dallas on Sunday.

The collision happened at about 6:22 a.m. on Sunday morning on C.H. James Parkway, east of Oglesby Road in Powder Springs.

Cobb County Police say Ronald Chrisman, 70, of Powder Springs, was driving the family's SUV eastbound when a piece of luggage fell out of a rear door and onto the road. He turned around and stopped in the westbound left-turn lane onto Oglesby Road and his wife, Roymane Chrisman, got out to pick up the luggage.

No charges had been filed in the incident as of Tuesday morning. Police say darkness was a contributing factor in the collision, but speed was not. Wetherby was not injured in the crash, police said.
