According to the National Weather Service forecast, showers and thunderstorms are possible this weekend in Paulding County, but the chance for precipitation is 20 percent on Saturday and 40 percent on Sunday.

Less than a 50-50 chance of rain sounds like the odds are in your favor for dry weather, but if you’re a “safe-not-sorry” person, that’s probably not good enough to leave your rain gear at home. (Remember, this is Georgia, and when it heats up for the summer, you know someone somewhere is going to get wet.)

The weather service said high temperatures will be well into the 80s all across north Georgia Saturday and Sunday, with inclement weather possible after 2 p.m. Saturday and after 8 a.m. Sunday.

  • Saturday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
  • Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.
  • Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.
  • Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
