Father Critically Wounds Teen Son in Shovel Attack
The south Paulding County man was arrested later Thursday night in Cobb County.

DALLAS, GA — A Paulding County man is in jail after police say he struck his 15-year-old son in the head with a shovel during an argument.
The teen remained hospitalized Friday with what police described as critical injuries.
At about 5:26 p.m. Thursday, Paulding County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to Fire Station 9, in southern Paulding County. At about the same time, they received a call from a neighbor reporting an assault that happened on Sheffield Lane, at a Powder Springs address.

Witnesses there told officers that a father had hit his son in the head with the shovel.
Once the father fled the scene, a neighbor brought the 15 year old to the fire station, where personnel began treating him. An EMS crew then took the teen to a local hospital.

Later Thursday night, Aaron Clark Buchanan, 52, was arrested in Cobb County.
He was charged with first-degree cruelty to children and aggravated assault and is currently being held without bond in the Paulding County Detention Center.
