Free Firearms Safety Kits Available To Paulding County Residents
The safety kits include a cable-style gun lock and will be distributed during National Safety Month.

PAULDING COUNTY, GA — The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Project ChildSafe, the nationwide firearms safety education program, will distribute free firearms safety kits to local residents. The safety kits include a cable-style gun lock and will be distributed during National Safety Month this June and throughout the summer at the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.
Project ChildSafe, a program developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, or NSSF, educates community members of safe firearms handling practices and works to reduce firearms accidents in local communities. Project ChildSafe has distributed more than 37 million firearm safety kits throughout the country since 2003. The program is supported by the U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance and the firearms industry.
“National Safety Month is an important reminder that safe firearms practices and storage should be practiced all year long, so we can reduce the number of accidents and create a safer environment for our community,” said Sheriff Gary Gulledge. “We encourage residents to pick up a Project ChildSafe safety kit, which includes a safety curriculum and a cable-style gun lock. The locks fit on most handguns, rifles and shotguns.”
