Garbage Truck Loses Brakes, Rolls Over Causing 2 Injuries: GSP

Two people were injured when a garbage truck lost control and rolled over into a ditch off a culdesac in south Paulding County Wednesday.

Paulding County, GA — Two people were injured when a garbage truck lost control and rolled over into a ditch off a culdesac in south Paulding County at Chancey Drive, Wednesday. The Georgia State Patrol reported that the truck lost its brakes. The investigating State trooper said the two people who were injured were transported to Kennestone Hospital.

The driver was trapped in the vehicle and Paulding County Firemen were able to extract him without life-threatening injuries, according to a post by the fire department. "Engines 5, 10 & 14 conducted a complex extrication of the driver, who thankfully had no life-threatening injuries," the post reads.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident and the report is not complete at this time.
