Hiram Arson Confirmed, Woman Arrested: WATCH

At least three families are displaced after a Hiram fire destroyed four homes and damaged 16 others. Arson is being blamed as the cause.

The Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Office has ruled a Sunday morning house fire that destroyed or damaged several homes in Paulding County arson.

An Investigator in Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens’ Fire Unit determined that the fire originated in the kitchen and dining room area of the home located at 67 Rosemount Court in Hiram. A person of interest was taken into custody by the Hiram Police Department on charges unrelated to the fire. The investigation is ongoing.

The fire which was reported to the Paulding Fire Department around 3:25 a.m., destroyed the house of origin as well as four neighboring residences in the Greystone Subdivision. Fourteen additional homes in the subdivision received severe heat damage from the blaze.

The Paulding County Fire Department and Hiram Police Department are assisting with the investigation.

At least three families are displaced after an early Sunday morning fire in Hiram destroyed four homes, severely damaged two others and caused heat and flame damage to 14 additional homes, according to Paulding County Fire & Rescue. There was only one minor injury and no fatalities.

The fire started around 3 a.m. in a home on Rosemont Court, off Greystone Parkway, and spread throughout the 16 homes in the neighborhood.

Paulding County Fire Department investigators are assisting Georgia Fire Marshall’s office determining the cause. None has been released as of yet.

Representatives from the Red Cross established a disaster operation at the neighborhood community center to assist the families affected by the fire.
