Hiram Elections: Qualifying, Voting Dates Set

Mayor's and two Council seats will be on the ballot.

The City of Hiram General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Voting will take place at the Hiram Community Center at 219 Main Street, Hiram.

This year’s Municipal Election will be for the Offices of Mayor, Council Post 1 and Council Post 2.

Candidates for Mayor and Council are at-large and are voted on by the registered voters of the entire City – There are no districts or geographical boundaries for anyone who qualifies to run for an elected office or for any registered voter to vote for any candidate. The City of Hiram Municipal Elections are nonpartisan and are held without primaries.

Municipal Elections are held in accordance with the Georgia Election Code and the City of Hiram Charter. Elected officials will take their Oath of Office the first meeting in January immediately following their election and serve a four year term.

To Qualify to run for one of these elected offices, you must have been a resident of the city for 12 months prior to the date of election, be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of election, and be a qualified voter of the city.

Qualifying dates will be Monday August 31, 2015 through Friday, September 4, 2015 from 8:30am to 4:30pm each day at Hiram City Hall. Qualification Fees are set at Mayor - $270.00 and Councilperson $90.00.
