Hiram Police Badges Go Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

HIRAM, GA — Hiram's police officers may look a little different this month — and it's for a good cause.

Officers from the Hiram Police Department are wearing pink badges during the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The badges are intended to show support for those who have breast cancer and those who have survived it and to honor those who have passed away due to the cancer.

"This is an opportunity for members of the Hiram Police Department to bring awareness in our community of all types of cancer," said police Chief Todd Vande Zande.

According to the police department, the company that makes the badges will donate a portion of its proceeds to a charity benefiting cancer research and survivors.

In a social media post, the police department encouraged community members to consider donating to a program that benefits breast cancer awareness and treatment this month.
