Hiram Police Officers Equipped with AEDs to Save Lives
Having every first responder capable of administering life-saving treatment with little delay greatly improves victim's chances of survival.

From City of Hiram
The City of Hiram has equipped its officers to react to cardiac emergencies by providing every patrol officer with Rescue Ready Powerheart AEDs from Cardiac Science.
When cardiac arrest occurs every second is critical. Having every first responder capable of administering life-saving treatment with minimal delay greatly improves the victim’s chances of survival and recovery.

According to Police Chief Todd VandeZande, “Our agency has witnessed first-hand the life-saving capabilities
of this technology. Within the past two months, our officers have been present during the use of AED’s; in both instances, victims of cardiac arrest were successfully resuscitated. On a medical call, our officers are often times the first units to arrive on scene. We wanted the ability to begin administering cardiac therapy immediately. This equipment will allow us to do that. Thanks to the Paulding County Fire Department, all of our staff have been CPR/AED certified and now have the equipment on hand to save lives.”
