'Legion Riders' Help Out Sheriff's Cops for Kids Program

This year's Cops for Kids event will take place Dec. 13 at Walmart in Dallas.

The American Legion Post 111’s ”Legion Riders” presented a check for $5,200 to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Cops for Kids program. The money came from donations, fundraisers and other collections from the past year.

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Cops for Kids program began in 1998 and took 25 kids shopping. Last year, as a result of generous donations from local businesses, citizens, and charities; the Sheriff’s Office was able to take over 250 children shopping.

Sheriff Gary Gulledge stated, “Without the support of organizations like the American Legion Post 111, the Cops for Kids program would likely have ended many years ago. I want to thank each and every one of the businesses, citizens, and charities that donate money to the Cops for Kids program
