Man Upset With Dallas Traffic Delay Shoots Himself In Hand: Sheriff
The shooting took place during a confrontation at Buchanan Highway.
DALLAS, GA — A man shot himself in the hand Thursday morning after he became impatient during a traffic delay in the 8000 block of Buchanan Highway, authorities said Friday.
Deputies with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene around 7:45 a.m. to an assault with a gun, authorities said.
Two men were directing traffic, assisting with the delivery of lumber, when the delay made a man impatient with the delay, authorities said. He got out of his car and threatened the men directing traffic, pointing a pistol at them, authorities said.

The man accidentally shot himself in his hand while re-holstering the pistol and getting back into his car, authorities said.
After the man asked others to call 911, authorities said he fled the scene to find medical attention.

Authorities found the man at Paulding County Fire Station 1 as he was trying to get medical attention.
No arrests have been made in the case.
The man has not yet been released from the hospital.
