Meet Paulding County's 'Snake Wrangler'

Deputy Jamie Winkles often gets the call when the Paulding County Sheriff's Office gets a snake report.

DALLAS, GA — It's not unusual for law enforcement officers to develop a specialty. For Paulding County Deputy Jamie Winkles, that specialty crawls around on its belly and make a lot of people really, really uncomfortable.

Winkles has developed a reputation as the "snake wrangler" at the sheriff's office.

On its Facebook page this week, the sheriff's office showed off photos of Winkles handling a non-venomous rat snake during a recent call. According to the post, Winkles was able to relocate the snake to a more appropriate location.

"You never know what kind of call you will go on from day to day," the post reads. "Luckily we have deputies that are not afraid to answer any type of call they get dispatched to."
