Students Told Not To Report Bus Crash: Parent

Students were told not to report it when a Paulding County School District bus backed into a ditch and hit a sign, a parent said.

PAULDING COUNTY, GA — Students were told not to report it when a Paulding County School District bus backed into a ditch and hit a sign, a parent told Fox 5 Atlanta. No students were injured in the accident Dec. 19 when the bus had the accident on Debbie Lane in Paulding County, according to Suzanne Wooley, director of communications for Paulding.

Wooley said the driver is no longer with the school district. The school district told Fox 5 Atlanta the driver had only been on the route for two days.

Fox 5 Atlanta reported that students were told not to call parents after the school bus wreck. A Paulding County parent told Fox 5 Atlanta that she was angry her sons were in an accident on a school bus and that the driver told them not to call her or the police.

"All of our policies and procedures were followed after the incident," Wooley said.
